Job Description

Apply here if you are interested in Game Design and/or UX Design internship!

We are Fatshark

We are a critically acclaimed Swedish video game studio with about 190 experienced and skilled developers. We are most well-known for the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise, but have also helped develop a number of AAA titles and we launched the highly anticipated game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.

We have grown quite a bit over the last few years, but we still embrace the same values that we started with. We want to build the best first person co-op games together, in an approachable, fun and passion-driven way.

Good to know before you apply

This internship is not paid and we cannot guarantee full-time employment after your internship period.

As an intern at Fatshark, you will work in the office full-time, 5 days a week, so you can get the most out of your internship.

We are looking for students based in Sweden who are able to work on-site in our office in Stockholm. Sadly, we cannot offer any relocation assistance for this role.

We have openings for two of our projects: Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (working in our in-house game engine Stingray) and our unannounced project (working in Unreal Engine 5). We will take your preference into account, but ultimately the team will decide which project you will go to.

What you'll do as an intern

  • Work hands-on in a real production environment from day one

  • Get a mentor who will support you throughout your internship at Fatshark by onboarding you, showing you the ropes, teaching and guiding you in your craft, and providing constructive feedback

  • Attend all meetings like any other team member, and you will have a manager and a producer that you report to

  • Gain experience with tools and software that are specific to your craft

  • Depending on the project you'll be on, you will either work with our own in-house engine Stingray or Unreal 5

What we offer

  • A playful, friendly, supportive and inclusive workplace

  • Opportunities for personal growth, learning from experienced mentors and other team members

  • Hand-on experience working directly on the project

  • Recurring hack weeks/days

  • Regulated flexible hours and time off during summer

  • Parties, social events and team-building activities

  • Dog-friendly office located in central Stockholm

Application details

We look forward to reviewing applications and will be interviewing students continuously until all the internship spots have been filled. Please note that we expect to receive a large amount of applications and won't have time to give personalized feedback to everyone :(

The recruitment process will have 2 steps:
1. Chat with a recruiter (20-30 minutes, video call)
2. Technical interview with your future mentor and another team member (1 hour, in our office)

Start: Spring and Autumn 2026
