The role

The Protein Design Team Lead will lead the development and application of computational protein design capabilities within the Bioinformatics group to support Seeds R&D in China. This role involves growing a high-performing team to advance technical capabilities in protein engineering and optimization for agricultural applications.

What you'll do

• Recruit and mentor a team of protein design scientists and computational biologists
• Lead the development of computational approaches for protein discovery and engineering
• Establish scalable workflows for sequence analysis and structure prediction
• Integrate experimental data into iterative design-build-test-learn cycles
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate protein design into discovery workflows
• Evaluate emerging technologies and strategic partnerships to strengthen scientific capabilities

What you'll bring

• PhD in Computational Biology Bioinformatics or a related quantitative discipline
• Five or more years of experience in computational protein design or engineering
• Strong knowledge of protein structure-function relationships and biochemistry
• Expertise in machine learning and AI methods for protein discovery
• Proven experience leading technical projects or multidisciplinary teams
