Head of Design, Product Design at BitGo

The role

BitGo is seeking a design leader for a player-coach role to transform the company into a design-forward organization. You will manage a senior team while maintaining a significant individual contributor workload to set the standard for craft and execution.

What you'll do

• Manage and mentor a senior design team across various product verticals
• Execute hands-on design work in Figma to set the craft standard
• Own the end-to-end design system and component library governance
• Partner with the Chief Product Officer on business and product strategy
• Integrate design into early discovery phases with product and engineering
• Establish UX and systems thinking practices across the entire organization

What you'll bring

• Experience leading design in financial services or complex technical domains
• Proven track record of building and owning design systems at scale
• Current hands-on proficiency in Figma and a strong design portfolio
• Previous experience managing designers and improving their professional craft
• Technical literacy including understanding of APIs and engineering trade-offs

Within the first year, you will establish a versioned design system with measurable adoption and ship flagship surfaces that set a new standard for the client experience. You will successfully shift the organizational culture so that design is involved in strategic discovery rather than late-stage execution, while fostering the professional growth of your team.
