Head of Design, Product Design at BitGo

The role

BitGo is seeking a design leader for a player-coach role to manage a senior team while remaining hands-on with individual design work. You will sit alongside the Chief Product Officer to drive business strategy and lead the company transition into a design-forward organization.

What you'll do

• Ship high-quality design work directly for retail mobile and other surfaces
• Mentor senior designers and provide explicit paths for their professional growth
• Own the design system including tokens patterns and governance models
• Amplify the strategic impact of design in roadmap and architecture discussions
• Establish standardized processes for critique documentation and engineering handoffs
• Evaluate technical designs and collaborate with engineering on implementation trade-offs

What you'll bring

• Leadership experience in financial services or complex digital asset domains
• Demonstrated success building and scaling a comprehensive design system
• Current proficiency in Figma with a portfolio of recently shipped work
• Proven ability to manage designers and improve their craft through feedback
• Technical literacy with APIs and data models to navigate engineering constraints

Your impact

By the end of the first year you will have established a versioned design system with high adoption and integrated design into early-stage strategy sessions. Your leadership will result in a more capable design team and the delivery of systemized coherent client experiences across flagship product surfaces.
