Engineering & Design Lead at Egis Group

The role

As Design and Engineering Lead, you will provide strategic leadership and accountability for technical governance across the National Highways Area 5 network. This role involves defining the engineering strategy to support the safe and efficient management of the M25 and surrounding trunk roads.

What you'll do

• Develop and deliver the engineering and design strategy for the National Highways Area 5 network
• Provide leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams to drive excellence and innovation
• Act as the senior technical authority for engineering governance and compliance
• Manage engineering budgets and workforce planning across multiple delivery programmes
• Maintain accountability for Principal Designer duties under CDM Regulations
• Lead engineering support for incident response and emergency recovery operations

What you'll bring

• Chartered Engineer status is required
• Proven experience in engineering design management of maintenance or project delivery
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a matrix organisation
• Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations
• Bachelor degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent experience
