This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced designer with a passion for craftsmanship, materials, and contemporary product design across handbags, small leather goods, jewellery, gifting, and lifestyle accessories.

Working closely with the Senior Leather Goods Designers, Product Development teams, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will be responsible for creating innovative and commercially relevant designs from concept through to development, ensuring alignment with the Mulberry brand vision, aesthetic, and customer.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop seasonal collections across handbags, small leather goods, jewellery, gifting, and lifestyle categories.
  • Research seasonal inspiration, market trends, materials, colours, trims, and competitor activity to inform product direction.
  • Generate and present innovative design concepts through hand sketching, digital renderings, and 3D mock-ups.
  • Create technical specification sheets and detailed design documentation to support product development and manufacturing.
  • Produce high-quality Photoshop renderings and visual presentations for design reviews and stakeholder meetings.
  • Drive handbag construction development and leather goods prototyping, working closely with Product Development teams and factory partners.
  • Build physical 3D mock-ups and prototypes to support product design, functionality, and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Production, Merchandising, and Image to deliver commercially successful products.
  • Review samples, prototypes, and development iterations, ensuring design intent and quality standards are maintained.
  • Maintain organised archives of design files, materials, technical information, and seasonal development records.

Culture:

  • Embrace and demonstrate the Mulberry values and behaviours: honesty, dynamism, and a community-oriented spirit.
  • Support Mulberry to deliver an inclusive culture, through behaving in a way that is open-minded and respectful towards others, and understanding that your views, opinions, and experiences may not always be shared by your colleagues.
  • Act as an ambassador for Mulberry and communicate positively about the brand.

Sustainability:

  • As a certified B Corp, we are committed to using business as a force for good. You’ll be encouraged to incorporate environmentally and socially responsible practices into your work, supporting our Made to Last strategy across Climate, Circularity, and Community.
  • Help foster a culture where diversity is celebrated and every individual feels valued, respected, and included. Champion equity, empathy, and understanding in all interactions - internally and externally.

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong hand drawing and visual communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of handbag construction and leather goods development.
  • Experience creating technical specification sheets.
  • Ability to produce Photoshop renderings and visual presentations.
  • Experience developing physical 3D mock-ups and prototypes.
  • Strong eye for detail, proportion, colour, and materials.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Passion for luxury fashion, craftsmanship, and contemporary design.
  • Strong interest in arts, culture, fashion, and creative industries.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a positive and adaptable attitude.
  • Genuine interest in jewellery, small leather goods, lifestyle, and gifting categories.

Desired Skills & Knowledge:
