Job Description

UpCloud is on a mission to be the number #1 European cloud platform, built on performance, reliability, and trust. While data sovereignty has become a hot topic in the EU, we can proudly say that we’ve been mastering it since 2011. With a strong, continually expanding portfolio of solutions and a rapidly growing international customer base, we are poised for explosive growth.

To accelerate this growth, we’re looking for a Visual Designer to join our diverse Marketing team. To us, brand identity is an incredibly important part of making UpCloud more and more known. We’re striving for top-notch content, and visuals are a big part of how we want to be perceived.

Your task will be to embed our brand into content that we’re creating for our future customers. This material is widely used in our online presence, events, physical booths, B2B content of all kinds, and sales enablement material at a professional level.

In this role, you will:
  • Own UpCloud’s visual marketing engine: Create and oversee high-quality visual assets across all digital channels, including our website, B2B sales enablement materials, pitch decks, presentations, and event setups. You will fully own the creation of campaign assets for every paid and organic channel we utilize.

  • Produce developer-focused video content: Take charge of our visual presence on YouTube, managing video production and editing tailored specifically for our technical community.

  • Evolve the brand thoughtfully: Add to UpCloud’s existing brand identity and history, taking it to the next level without losing the common thread of what makes us us.

  • Proactively shape our visual edge: Step up with a strong "here’s how we differentiate" mindset, bringing fresh ideas to the table on how to capture attention in the cloud industry.

To succeed, you’ll need to have:
  • A visual design background: Solid experience focused on marketing graphics, branding, and visual storytelling (rather than pure UX/UI).

  • A genuine geeky streak: You will be designing for Linux nerds, developers, and technical founders. An understanding of tech-savvy audiences is a must, and you must know how to visually communicate with developers.

  • Versatile design skills: Proven capability spanning web visuals, presentation decks, print/event assets.

  • A balanced design mindset: You are proactive and ambitious about elevating our look, but also humble, collaborative, and respectful of our established brand heritage.

  • High growth potential and motivation: You don't need decades of seniority, but you do need drive, innovative thinking, and confidence in your craft.

  • Local presence: Preferably based in or near Helsinki to collaborate closely with the local team, in our relaxed hybrid setting.

We also appreciate (read: not a must but certainly a plus):
  • Tech & SaaS context: Experience designing within SaaS, B2B, or high-tech industries.

  • Slight Art Director flair: The ability to articulate brand concepts in a catchy and visually memorable way.
