RoleWe're looking for a (mid-)senior, hands-on product designer to take a clear-eyed look at our current design, own the redesign of both our product and our marketing website, and partner with us through the build so the design actually ships the way it's meant to. This is a design-led role: a strong eye and end-to-end product-design craft come first, and comfort working close to a modern front-end stack (React / TypeScript / Tailwind) is a real plus. It's a fixed-scope freelance engagement, structured around clear milestones.
Tasks• Audit our current product UI/UX and our website, and deliver clear, prioritised recommendations and a design direction we can act on.• Own the redesign end-to-end — product and website — from concept through high-fidelity, implementation-ready design.• Establish a lightweight design system and component language aligned with our stack, so the product stays consistent and fast to build as it grows.• Partner with our engineers through development: iterative design reviews, design QA, and hands-on handoff support.• Bring clarity to complex, data-dense financial interfaces — making sophisticated information feel simple, trustworthy, and accessible.• Help shape a credible, modern brand expression across the product and the site.
Ideal ProfileAn experienced, genuinely hands-on freelancer who enjoys going from audit to polished, shipped design — and who's comfortable owning design end-to-end on a small, founder-led team rather than slotting into a large design org.
Qualifications• A strong portfolio of shipped product UI/UX, ideally consumer or SaaS, and ideally data-rich or finance-adjacent.• Expert in Figma and modern design-system practice.• Skilled at information-dense interfaces — turning complexity into clarity and trust.• Solid marketing/website design ability: responsive, modern, and conversion-aware.• Able to deliver implementation-ready specs for a React / TypeScript / Tailwind front end. Hands-on coding of your own designs is a plus, not a requirement.• Excellent written and verbal English, and the ability to explain and defend design decisions while collaborating closely with founders and engineers.

Location and Work environmentThis is a hybrid role based in Berlin. We value an intensive in-person kickoff and periodic in-person sessions every few weeks; otherwise you're free to work from your preferred location.
