Job Description

A fast growing healthtech scaleup in Rotterdam is looking for a UX and UI Designer who can turn complex healthcare information into clear, accessible and engaging digital experiences. You will work on web, mobile app, design systems, user flows, Figma components and AI supported design workflows.

This is a role for a designer who looks beyond polished screens. You will help mature a digital healthcare platform and make sure users can better understand, follow and continue their health journey.

You will work closely with the Lead Designer, CTO, engineers, product and teams from medical and customer care. The design foundation already exists in Figma, including a design system, tokens and reusable components. The next phase is about improving, documenting and scaling that foundation.

Role descriptionAs a UX and UI Designer, you will work on digital experiences across web and mobile. You will translate medical and technical information into clear flows, intuitive interfaces and visually strong screens. You will think through the full user journey, from the first visit and intake to treatment, guidance and long term engagement.

You will not work in isolation. Together with the Lead Designer, you will help build the design standard within the company. You will evolve the design system, document design decisions, improve components and help product and engineering move faster with more consistency.AI is part of the workflow. Not as a gimmick, but as a way to speed up research synthesis, ideation, component creation, documentation and the bridge between design and code. Think of Figma, Claude, Claude Code, Figma MCP and similar tools. You do not need to master every tool from day one, but you should be curious and excited to help shape a modern design workflow.

You will work on:• UX and UI design for web and mobile app• User journeys, wireframes, prototypes and high fidelity designs• Improving and extending the design system in Figma• Reusable components, tokens and clear design documentation• Flows for intakes, health programs, content, coaching and retention• Designs for internal systems such as a patient information management system• User research, usability testing and feedback loops• Accessible and mobile first interfaces• Close collaboration with engineers to bring designs into production• AI supported workflows for research, ideation and design to code

What is needed:• 3 to 5 years of experience as a UX and UI Designer• Strong experience with Figma• Experience with digital products in D2C, SaaS, healthtech, fintech or similar environments• A portfolio that shows clear UX thinking and strong visual execution• Experience designing for web and mobile• You can simplify complex information into clear and logical flows• You understand design systems, components and scalable design standards• You enjoy working closely with engineers, product and stakeholders• You are curious about AI and like using new tools in your design process• You speak fluent English

Nice to have:• Experience in healthcare, wellness or products involving sensitive user data• Experience with conversion, activation and retention in B2C products• Experience with design to code workflows• Experience with accessibility and inclusive design• Dutch language skills are a plus, but not required
