Freelance Web Designer – Shopify Children’s Brand at Twine

Join an independent Australian children’s publishing and entertainment brand seeking a creative Shopify web designer to elevate an existing website. The site already features established products, content, branding, and illustrated animal character artwork, so your focus will be on refining the visual presentation rather than a full rebuild. You will enhance typography, spacing, layouts, visual hierarchy, product displays, backgrounds, colour treatments, and ensure consistency across desktop and mobile. The ideal candidate will bring a warm, colourful, playful, and storybook-inspired approach, creating a polished 2D cartoon and character-led feel that appeals to both children and parents. Direct implementation of improvements in Shopify is required, not just mockups. Experience with children’s, illustrated, publishing, toy, animation, entertainment, or colourful consumer brands is highly valued. The main work must be substantially completed within seven days of starting.

Deliverables

Requirements

Proven experience designing and implementing Shopify websites, with a strong creative eye for children’s or illustrated brands Portfolio demonstrating work with playful, character-led, or entertainment-focused visual styles Proficiency in Shopify theme customization and direct site implementation (not just mockups) Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, colour theory, and user experience for both children and parents Ability to deliver polished, engaging, and accessible designs within tight deadlines Excellent communication skills and responsiveness Experience with children’s publishing, toys, animation, or entertainment brands is a plus Availability to start immediately and complete the main work within seven days
