3D Creative Engineer – Rigging, Animation & Tools at EpidemicSound

The role

Blenda Labs is seeking a 3D Creative Engineer to join their Stockholm-based team for a three-month freelance assignment. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of art and engineering, focusing on building advanced 3D workflows and custom tools for AI-assisted video production.

What you'll do

• Build and extend 2D and 3D animation pipelines centered on Blender
• Design character rigs and procedural setups for animation teams
• Write pipeline tooling and automations using Python and Swift
• Solve complex motion quality and temporal consistency problems
• Collaborate with artists and AI developers to bridge technical gaps
• Prototype and ship tools that support daily creative production

What you'll bring

• Strong Blender skills including Python scripting and add-on development
• Experience with generative AI models for video and image production
• Proficiency in character rigging and 3D fundamentals like shading
• Programming experience in macOS environments using Swift or Rust
• Background in animation with a sharp eye for motion quality
