Principal Product Designer, Visual (Merchant) at DoorDash

The role

This role involves designing and building products for DoorDash users at a massive scale while working closely with engineering and product management. You will operate in a hybrid model, spending one to two days per week in a Design Hub to create impactful experiences. The position focuses on moving from idea to shipped product quickly using both traditional and AI-powered tools.

What you'll do

• Set the technical direction for design across specific product areas
• Connect multiple teams around shared platforms to prevent work duplication
• Transform ambiguous problems into architecture decisions and working systems
• Build design systems and AI-powered tooling such as prompt libraries
• Develop production-ready prototypes that move real metrics across the organization
• Mentor senior designers and managers to grow the surrounding team
