Head of Design at Turner & Townsend

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Head of Design to lead our creative vision and design strategy at our North Coast, Egypt location. This is a senior leadership position for a seasoned design professional with 20+ years of industry experience. You will oversee all design operations, mentor a talented creative team, and drive innovation across our organization's visual identity, user experience, and brand presence. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on creative expertise, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

• Develop and execute comprehensive design strategy aligned with organizational goals and market positioning
• Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing design team, fostering professional growth and creative excellence
• Oversee all design projects from conception through delivery, ensuring quality standards and timely completion
• Establish and maintain design systems, standards, and best practices across the organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product, marketing, and executive leadership to translate business objectives into compelling visual solutions
• Conduct design research and competitive analysis to inform strategic recommendations
• Present design concepts and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and clients
• Champion innovation and emerging design trends while maintaining brand consistency
• Manage design budgets, resources, and project timelines effectively
• Build and strengthen relationships with external design partners and vendors as needed

Qualifications

• 20+ years of professional experience in design leadership and creative direction
• Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling design teams
• Expert-level proficiency in design tools and software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent)
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement design strategy and design systems
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills
• Advanced stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration and team leadership
• Strategic thinking with the ability to balance creative vision with business objectives
• Portfolio demonstrating significant design work and leadership impact
• Strong mentoring and people development capabilities
• Knowledge of current design trends, tools, and methodologies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
