ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The Digital Designer is a key member of the Ogilvy One design team, responsible for producing high-quality, on-brand digital assets across web, social media, EDM, and app channels. This role sits within the Ogilvy One New Zealand team and works closely with the CX + Digital Director and Digital Project Director to bring XD and CX experiences to life with strong craft, consistency, and attention to detail. 

The role will also offer the chance to collaborate with the UX/CX team in Australia, allowing this person to work together, learn, and develop their skills within a supportive team environment. 

The ideal candidate is a confident mid-level designer who can execute across multiple formats, contribute ideas, respond well to feedback, and continue to grow their craft in a fast-paced agency environment. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

  • Create on-brand digital assets across websites, landing pages, social media, EDMs, display formats, and app experiences using Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Translate briefs, brand guidelines, campaign ideas, and UX requirements into polished design solutions that are fit for purpose and channel-ready.
  • Collaborate to develop work, build capability, and ensure output aligns to team standards and creative expectations.
  • Work with CX, UX, copywriters, developers, and production teams to deliver work accurately and on time.
  • Adapt and resize creative and content across channels and formats while maintaining consistency, brand integrity, and design quality.
  • Support concept development through layouts, mock-ups, components, design systems, and presentation-ready visuals.
  • Prepare organised design files, prototypes, and handover assets that support smooth review and production workflows.
  • Participate in internal and client reviews, take feedback constructively, and refine work to meet requirements.
  • Stay current with digital design trends, platform specifications, and emerging AI-enabled tools that support better workflow and craft. 
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a high standard of file hygiene and detail. 
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • A willingness to explore and use AI responsibly to support ideation, production efficiency, and the design process where appropriate

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

 

  • Around 3+ years of industry experience, with a strong focus on digital design and content production. 
  • A strong digital portfolio that demonstrates craft, versatility, and attention to detail across a range of brands and digital channels.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Experience with After Effects or other motion/content tools is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of layout, typography, hierarchy, brand systems, and designing for digital environments. 
  • Experience creating assets for web, social media, EDM, and app interfaces, with awareness of responsive and platform-specific considerations. 
  • Agency or fast-paced in-house experience is preferred.
