User Experience Designer: Hardware Systems at Zipline

The role

The New Products team is seeking a User Experience Designer to research and shape interactions with Ziplines Platform 2 precision delivery system. This cross-disciplinary role bridges industrial design, software, and operations to define design requirements for hardware and digital touchpoints. You will champion the human experience for both operators and customers throughout all development phases.

What you'll do

• Design end-to-end user experiences across physical and digital touchpoints
• Translate complex system behaviors into clear interaction models and user journeys
• Partner with engineers and industrial designers to define physical interactions and feedback
• Conduct field research with operators and customers to understand real-world workflows
• Prototype and test interaction concepts using physical mockups and digital simulations
• Advocate for clarity and human trust in autonomous delivery experiences

What you'll bring

• Minimum five years of experience in user experience or industrial design
• Strong portfolio showcasing real-world results and visual communication skills
• Proficiency in systems thinking and making complex technical experiences simple
• Experience conducting in-person design research and analysis of user behavior
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and fast-moving environments
