VP of Learning Design at Duolingo

The role

The VP of Learning Design leads Duolingo’s 40-person Learning Experience organization to make lessons more effective and engaging for millions of learners. This leadership role focuses on building a high-performing team and strengthening learning design capabilities across language, math, and music products.

What you'll do

• Lead the Learning Experience organization and its senior leadership team
• Own organizational design including hiring and leadership development
• Allocate resources to high-impact work and ensure delivery on commitments
• Strengthen product capabilities by coaching leaders on specs and roadmaps
• Represent the learning organization in cross-functional forums to influence strategy
• Leverage AI to accelerate product development and improve learning content

What you'll bring

• Experience leading multidisciplinary organizations through directors in product-led environments
• Strong background in learning design or learning science disciplines
• Proven track record of developing leaders and managing team health
• Experience shaping consumer products and using AI to enhance development
• Ability to work from New York or Pittsburgh on a hybrid schedule
