Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Civil Site Grading Design Engineer with strong expertise in land development, site grading, roadway design, and utility coordination. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience delivering subdivision developments, site plan projects, commercial site developments, and municipal capital projects. Experience with projects in Alberta, Canada and a background in municipal engineering design and construction will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare detailed civil engineering designs for land development and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Design and coordinate site grading, drainage, parking lots, roadway alignments, and utility servicing for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.
  • Prepare grading plans, servicing plans, stormwater management designs, and construction drawings.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, municipalities, utility providers, and project stakeholders.
  • Perform design calculations and ensure compliance with applicable municipal standards and regulations.
  • Support subdivision development projects from conceptual design through detailed design and construction.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents for quality and accuracy.
  • Assist in resolving design and construction-related issues during project execution.
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and project coordination sessions.
  • Contribute to process improvements and design automation initiatives where applicable.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Civil Engineering Design.
  • Proven experience in:
    • Land Development Projects
    • Site Grading Design
    • Parking Lot Design
    • Commercial Site Development
    • Roadway Design
    • Utility Coordination
    • Subdivision Development Projects
    • Municipal Capital Projects
  • Experience working on Alberta-based projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience in municipal engineering design and construction is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering design standards, grading principles, drainage systems, and municipal infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with BIM and digital engineering processes is advantageous.
