About The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Prototype Design Engineer to join an innovative engineering team developing next-generation products and systems. In this role, you will be involved throughout the entire product development cycle, from concept creation and CAD design to prototyping, testing, and design optimization.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to transform ideas into functional prototypes and support the transition towards low-volume manufacturing. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining technical creativity with practical problem-solving and thrives in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and prototypes using 3D CAD softwareCreate detailed technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assemblyBuild, test, and evaluate prototypes, incorporating feedback into iterative design improvementsSupport product development activities from concept through validation and production readinessWork with rapid prototyping technologies, including 3D printing and additive manufacturing processesCollaborate closely with engineers, designers, and production teams to ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, and cost-effectiveInvestigate technical challenges and develop practical engineering solutionsContribute to design reviews, testing activities, and continuous product improvement initiatives
Requirements
What We're Looking For
HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design Engineering, Product Development, or a related technical disciplineExperience creating 3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, or similar CAD softwareExperience with product development, prototyping, and design iterationStrong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processesHands-on experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping technologiesPractical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teamsGood communication skills in English
Nice to Have
Experience in robotics, aerospace, autonomous systems, machine building, or other high-tech industriesKnowledge of additive manufacturing design principlesExperience supporting low-volume manufacturing or production environmentsFamiliarity with composite materials, lightweight structures, or precision mechanical systemsExperience working in a startup, innovation, or R&D-focused environment
