Your Challenge:

As transport infrastructure becomes more complex and design standards continue to evolve, the accuracy and clarity of technical drawings are critical to successful project delivery. Road alignments, corridor models, intersections, construction documentation, Civil 3D design packages, Road layouts, traffic control plans, and construction details must be clearly documented to ensure safe, efficient, and buildable outcomes.

The challenge is to transform engineering concepts and design intent into precise, compliant, and well-coordinated road design deliverables that support planning, approval, and construction. Your work will play a key role in ensuring that traffic and road design solutions are communicated clearly and implemented effectively on the ground.

Your Role as Traffic & Road Design Engineer:

You are detail-oriented, technically curious, and take pride in producing high-quality road design solutions and drawings. You enjoy working closely with engineers and technical persons, translating engineering briefs, design inputs, and authority requirements into accurate Civil 3D models and design documentation that meets project and authority requirements.

As part of a collaborative transport planning and traffic engineering team, you will support the design, preparation and delivery of road design drawings across a wide range of traffic and road design projects. You are comfortable working in a project-based environment, open to learning, and motivated to build your technical skills and experience in traffic and road design.

Your Responsibilities and Professional Development:

Based on your experience, you will support project teams by preparing and maintaining CAD drawings for traffic and road infrastructure projects. You will work closely with senior engineers, designers, and technical persons gaining exposure to road geometry, intersections, traffic control devices, and construction documentation.

This role offers strong technical guidance, structured learning, and opportunities to develop your design and drafting skills across a variety of transport projects, while building a solid foundation for career growth in traffic and road design.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare and revise road design models and drawings for alignments, corridors, intersections, profiles, and cross-sections using Civil 3D
• Assist in developing construction documentation, authority submission packages, and standard design details
• Update design models and drawings based on engineer markups, design changes, and coordination feedback
• Ensure design outputs comply with design standards, guidelines, and applicable codes
• Organise and maintain Civil 3D project files, model structures, and drawing registers
• Coordinate with engineers and project team members to meet project deadlines and quality requirements
• Support basic quantity take-offs and measurements when required
• Contribute to a well-coordinated and efficient design workflow within the project team

Qualifications

Your Qualifications Include:

• Diploma or associate degree in Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
• 2–3 years of professional experience as a Road Design Engineer on road, traffic, or civil infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in Civil 3D (basic knowledge of InfraWorks is an advantage)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering briefs, design inputs, and technical specifications
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Desirable:

• Exposure to traffic design tasks such as corridor modelling, intersection design, authority submissions, or construction documentation
• Proficiency in InfraWorks or other visualisation packages
• Familiarity with road design and traffic design standards and authority requirements (local or international)
• Basic understanding of Civil 3D workflows, design coordination, and construction documentation processes

Your primary office location will be in Kuala Lumpur, with collaboration across international project teams.
