Position Overview:
We’re hiring a Staff Product Designer to lead design for Platform AI and Core Services that power the Diligent One Platform. This role sits at the intersection of AI-native workflows, shared platform capabilities, and portfolio-wide patterns: you’ll define system-level experiences and reusable design foundations that other product teams rely on to ship high-quality AI features faster and more consistently across the suite.
As a Staff designer, you’ll operate as a lead for complex, ambiguous, multi-product work, owning vision and execution across end-to-end systems, not just individual features.
This is a hybrid role located in Vancouver, BC, with an expectation of at least 50% in‑office time.
What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end design for platform AI and core services that power multiple products across the Diligent One Platform.
- Ensure consistently high-quality experiences through system‑minded interaction design, refined visual language, and accessible components.
- Define and evolve reusable patterns in close partnership with the design system team.
- Shape product strategy with Product and Engineering by framing problems, exploring solutions, and tying design decisions to clear success metrics.
- Pioneer AI‑native ways of working across Design, Product, and Engineering—using AI tools to explore directions faster, prototype complex workflows, and inform better product decisions.
- Mentor and unblock other designers, providing direction, feedback, and systems that help them deliver at a higher level.
What we’re looking for
- Experience: Demonstrated impact in B2B or enterprise SaaS, with complex, data‑rich workflows across multi‑team or multi‑product initiatives. Hands‑on with AI‑powered experiences (e.g., assistants/copilots, generative workflows, recommendations, or conversational interfaces) and/or shared platform capabilities, and comfortable working with design systems.
- Craft & systems thinking: Strong interaction and visual design skills, with systems‑minded thinking across flows, states, and information architecture. Able to deliver accessible, production‑ready UI and components.
- Leadership & collaboration: Trusted partner to senior Product and Engineering leaders, able to communicate clearly, facilitate alignment, and mentor junior and mid-career designers while raising the quality bar for the broader team.
- Mindset: Outcome‑oriented, comfortable with ambiguity and constraints, and energized by AI‑enabled ways of working within the design practice.
- Bonus experience: Background in governance, risk, compliance, fintech, or other high‑stakes, regulated domains; hands‑on experience designing or governing design systems; and familiarity with WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and how to bake accessibility into both product design and design system work.
