Staff Product Designer, APM at datadog

The role

As a Staff Product Designer for the APM team, you will design intuitive experiences for navigating complex technical workflows and distributed systems. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to help engineers troubleshoot and optimize application performance in production environments.

What you'll do

• Shape the design strategy across multiple product areas and workflows within the APM team
• Partner with product managers and engineers to design experiences for highly technical systems
• Drive end-to-end product thinking across onboarding and performance investigation workflows
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to identify pain points and validate solutions
• Mentor other designers by providing feedback and sharing frameworks to raise the quality bar
• Utilize AI-assisted workflows and prototyping tools to accelerate iteration and explore concepts

What you'll bring

• Ten or more years of experience in digital product design
• Proven track record of designing and shipping complex technical products and systems
• Experience designing for developer platforms or observability tools
• Strong systems thinking and product judgment in ambiguous environments
• Fluency in modern design tools and interest in AI-assisted workflows
