The role

This is a Senior Product Designer role focused on owning visual craft and product design for Highlight. The designer will define how users interact with AI beyond traditional chatboxes, with work immediately visible in the product. It's a hands-on role requiring constant design and prototyping to set a high bar for AI-native software.

What you'll do

• Own visual and interaction quality across the product.
• Talk to users regularly and incorporate their feedback into designs.
• Partner with the Head of Design to translate concepts into high-fidelity UI.
• Collaborate daily with engineers to bring polished interfaces into production.
• Rapidly prototype AI-native interaction models, often within hours.
• Design and refine micro-interactions, animations, and layout systems.

What you'll bring

• World-class visual and interaction design skills are required.
• Proven track record of shipping outstanding UI at scale is essential.
• Ability to rapidly prototype advanced interactions, potentially with code, is needed.
• Experience designing AI-native interaction patterns is a strong plus.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco or NYC for an in-office role.

Your impact

The successful candidate will transform raw ideas and wireframes into inevitable, futuristic, and obsessively polished interfaces. Their designs will make complex AI systems feel simple, powerful, and delightful, leading users to share and praise the product's innovation. This role will define new interaction patterns for AI systems and set a high bar for craft.
