Job Description
As the Solution Designer Agentic AI, you’ll design and deliver (Agentic) AI solutions alongside our AI engineers power KPN’s autonomous networks – creating intelligent agents that observe, decide, and act to optimize performance in real time. Collaborating with business stakeholders, domain experts, and engineering teams, you’ll design and maintain scalable AI pipelines that bring these capabilities into production and shape the future of self-managing networks.
Key daily responsibilities:
- Translate the Solution Architect’s vision into detailed Agentic AI (technical and functional) designs, including multi-agent systems and reinforcement learning to drive autonomous network optimization and intelligent decision-making.
- Develop functional and technical AI algorithms, analytics models, and machine learning systems tailored to operational domains, ensuring alignment with business-critical use cases.
- Design scalable AI/ML pipelines with emphasis on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Ensure production-grade robustness and compliance by designing resilient (Agentic) AI solutions that meet enterprise security and governance standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with enterprise architects, solution architects, network specialists, data engineers, and AI engineers to deliver integrated, end-to-end (Agentic) AI network solutions.
- Translate strategic network goals into adaptive, data-driven models powered by reinforcement learning and emerging (Agentic) AI technologies.
- Continuously monitor and assimilate advancements in (Agentic) AI, reinforcement learning, and network automation to enhance innovation within the solution landscape.
Qualifications
You are eager to learn and can adapt quickly, both technically and personally. You have strong analytical skills and take ownership of your work. You enjoy working with both technical and non-technical colleagues and can make complex ideas easy to understand.
To be successful in this role, you bring:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience, of which at least 3 in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Autonomous Networks, or a closely related technical discipline.
- A master’s degree in a relevant technical field such as Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Econometrics, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a comparable area of study.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across technical and business domains, translating strategic objectives and operational needs into impactful Agentic AI solutions and implementations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop custom AI and machine learning models from scratch, including data preparation, model selection, training, validation, and optimization for real-world deployment.
- Proven experience of designing and delivering production-grade AI/ML solutions that translate complex algorithms into measurable business value.
- Well-versed in software engineering methodologies and best practices – encompassing coding standards, code reviews, version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and security protocols.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java, with hands-on experience using AI/ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and data-processing frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and deploying microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, and related container-orchestration techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and coordinate AI Engineers throughout the build and implementation phases, ensuring technical designs are accurately translated into scalable, high-performance solutions.
- Interest in reinforcement-learning and agentic AI, actively exploring emerging frameworks and research to advance to autonomous solutions.
