Job Description

Senior UX Researcher

Location: Hybrid | Amsterdam

Hours: 36-40 hours per week

Contract: Freelance assignment for 12 months

Languages: English

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior UX Researcher to help create more inclusive and accessible travel experiences for all users.

In this role, you'll lead end-to-end research initiatives that shape strategic product decisions and improve digital accessibility across customer journeys. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, engineers and business stakeholders to uncover insights that drive meaningful impact for travellers with diverse needs.

This is an opportunity to combine research excellence, accessibility expertise and strategic influence in a role where your work directly contributes to making travel more accessible for everyone.

What You'll Do

Lead complex qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research projectsDefine long-term research programmes aligned with business prioritiesTranslate ambiguous business questions into actionable research plansConduct accessibility-focused user research and usability testingSynthesize findings from multiple data sources to generate strategic insightsGuide teams on research methodologies and inclusive research practicesPartner with Product, Design, Data and Customer Experience teamsMentor researchers and contribute to research excellence across the organisationCommunicate insights effectively to both operational and executive stakeholdersSupport evidence-based product and service decisions

What You'll Bring

Master's degree or equivalent experience in HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Sociology or a related field5-8+ years of UX, Customer or User Research experienceStrong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodsExperience delivering strategic research programmesExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsProven ability to influence business and product decisions through researchKnowledge of GDPR, research ethics and data compliancePassion for accessibility, inclusion and user-centred design
