Role Overview

Instacart’s Agentic team drives AI-powered solutions for Enterprise and Third-Party partners, transforming the retail and grocery ecosystem. As a Senior Product Designer, you will lead the design and execution of AI-powered consumer and enterprise experiences. You will leverage advanced AI technologies to create intuitive, habit-forming solutions that deliver trust, clarity, and meaningful value to users.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and iterate on a consumer-facing AI agent to assist with grocery shopping and meal planning.
• Develop external-facing connector agents that expand Instacart’s reach and ensure brand cohesion.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Product, Engineering, ML, and Data Science.
• Design scalable systems emphasizing AI transparency, trust, explainability, and user feedback.
• Lead user research, usability testing, and behavior analysis to inform design improvements.
• Solve complex challenges like multi-input/multimodal interfaces and design adaptive systems.

Requirements Snapshot

• 6–8+ years of product design experience with a portfolio showcasing end-to-end projects.
• 2+ years of specialized experience designing for AI systems, including conversational AI or LLM-driven tools.
• Proficiency with Figma and rapid prototyping tools for testing design concepts.
• Demonstrated success collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Data/ML teams.
• Fluency in conducting usability studies and translating insights into actionable design refinements.
