Job Description

🎯 Creative Strategist – Performance AdvertisingDTC Skincare & Beauty Brand💰 $5,000/month + performance bonus | 🌍 Remote Contractor | 🕐 Flexible CET overlap

Job SnapshotWe’re hiring a Creative Strategist to help build the creative engine behind a premium DTC beauty brand serving women aged 50+.You’ll turn customer insights and campaign data into advertising concepts that can be tested, measured, and scaled across Meta and Google. This is a hands-on strategy and writing role for someone who can connect research, customer psychology, storytelling, creative execution, and performance data. You’ll report to the Head of Creative and work closely with editors and media buyers.

About the CompanyThe Company is a premium DTC skincare and beauty brand creating skin-first, science-backed products for women aged 50+.Creative is a major growth lever, so the team values advertising that is both thoughtfully developed and commercially effective.

The Role

You’ll own the strategic development of new paid-advertising ideas, from research and concept development through scripting, editor direction, launch review, and iteration.Research → Insight → Concept → Script → Editor Direction → Launch → Analysis → IterationYou’ll report to the Head of Creative and collaborate closely with editors and media buyers. Editors will support production, while media buyers will provide campaign data so performance results directly influence future concepts.

What You’ll OwnDevelop 10–15 substantial new ad scripts or creative briefs per week across UGC, AI-generated, video, and static formats.Research customers, competitors, markets, and advertising trends to uncover fresh hooks, angles, objections, desires, and opportunities.Write conversion-focused scripts and briefs with a clear audience, message, creative rationale, structure, and execution direction.Give editors clear strategic direction and feedback so concepts are accurately executed.Review Meta and Google advertising performance with the media buying team and turn results into clear creative learnings and next tests.Expand winning ideas and identify why weaker concepts failed.Maintain organized records of hypotheses, concepts, assets, results, and next steps in ClickUp and Notion.

What Counts as a Substantial Concept?A substantial concept must be:A genuinely new strategic idea, angle, narrative, format, or customer insight, rather than simply a new hook for an existing ad.A complete, production-ready script or brief defining the audience, problem/desire, core message, offer or mechanism, structure, and editor direction.Detailed enough for an editor or creator to execute without developing the underlying strategy themselves.

Simple hook variations, minor copy changes, basic static briefs, resizes, and close imitations of existing ads do not count toward the 10–15 weekly target. The output target covers concept development and scripting and sits alongside research, editor collaboration, performance analysis, and creative organization.

What Success Looks LikeYou’ll succeed when:10–15 substantial, production-ready concepts are delivered consistently each week.Editors understand the strategic intent and require minimal avoidable revisions.Campaign results are translated into useful creative learnings and clear next-step recommendations.Winning hooks, angles, messages, and formats are intentionally expanded.Creative hit rate and profitable revenue contribution improve over time.ClickUp, Notion, and creative assets remain organized and current.

Experience We’re Looking ForMid-to-senior experience in performance creative strategy, ideally DTC or ecommerce.Strong direct-response writing skills across short-form video, UGC, AI-generated creative, and static concepts.Experience conducting customer, competitor, and market research and turning insights into advertising ideas.Experience briefing and directing video editors or content creators.Confidence interpreting Meta and/or Google advertising metrics and using performance data to guide creative decisions.Strong project-management and organizational skills across multiple concepts and production stages.Experience in beauty, skincare, cosmetics, mature beauty, or an adjacent consumer category is highly valuable.

A strong portfolio matters more than impressive job titles. Be prepared to explain why specific concepts worked or failed and what you would test next.

How You’ll WorkFully remote contractor engagement.Flexible schedule, with overlap around CET hours preferred.Reports directly to the Head of Creative.Works closely with editors and media buyers.Uses ClickUp for production management and Notion for research and documentation.Uses Claude or similar AI tools to support research, ideation, and creative workflows.
