π¨Role 1: Design Engineer | B2B Data/Analytics | Β£100β130k | Londonπ¨
We're working with a profitable, bootstrapped private markets data platform, used every day by 300+ investment firms, from angel investors backing early-stage start-ups through to some of the largest PE funds in the world.
This is a genuinely rare Design Engineer role: half product design, half production engineering, with no hand-off in between. You'll own user flows end to end, from sitting in on customer conversations to shipping the React/TypeScript that ships. You'll also own the design system, keeping it coherent as a genuinely complex, data-dense product scales.
The problems are hard in the best way: how do you present hundreds of data points per entity without drowning the user in tabs? How does a powerful filter builder stay intuitive rather than becoming a query language? And as the product moves towards agents doing more of the work, what does a UI look like when the human is directing rather than clicking through everything themselves? You'll be embedded alongside a small, senior team who care as much about craft as they do about shipping fast, with real ownership over how the product feels, not just how it looks.
π§ What you'll need: π 4+ years' experience designing and building for a B2B data or analytics product (fintech, data platforms, CRMs, BI or dev tools) π React/TypeScript, comfortable shipping production code without close supervision π A portfolio that shows product thinking: flows you owned, problems you reframed, decisions you made π High agency, real intellectual depth, and genuine curiosity about the hard problems above
πΈ Package: Β£100β130k base, plus a discretionary bonus for standout performance π In-office in London (3+ days per week - flexible)

π Role 2: Design Engineer | Developer Tools | Β£90β135k | London or UK/EU Remote π
We're working with a fast-growing, well-funded developer tools company gearing up for a Series B, already at real scale with thousands of paying customers. This is their first dedicated design hire, and it's a genuinely rare one: you'd be stepping into what the founder's been doing himself day-to-day, with real ownership from the start.
You'll own design and front-end quality across their web app, an observability tool built for developers, working directly in the codebase alongside engineering rather than handing off Figma files. AI is genuinely built into how the team works already (Claude, Figma MCP, Slack-based automation), so you'll be joining a team that's already operating at the frontier of how this work gets done.
π§ What you'll do: π Own the design system and front-end standards from scratch, no legacy baggage π Work hands-on in code alongside engineering, no handoff process π Drive UX for new features as the product scales fast π Act as the quality bar across everything shipped, front and back end π Shape v2 of an already well-loved product, not just maintain what exists
π What you'll need: π Genuine design engineer background, comfortable coding daily, not a designer who dabbles π Obsessive attention to detail and a strong eye for polished, high-quality UI π Comfortable with high autonomy and founding-level scope π Real, practical use of AI tooling in your day-to-day workflow
πΈ Package: Β£90β135k (flex for the right person) + 0.3% equity π London preferred (UK/EU remote also fine)
