  • Manage the Railway design team and/ or bids ensuring the necessary resources and activity to deliver on time and to client satisfaction;
  • Maintain relationships and regular contact with Clients, Partners, Subcontractors and attend and of technical meetings with them;
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring they are accurately forecast, monitored and regularly reviewed. Also responsible for planning of project workload, invoices/payments etc under the guidance of the department manager;
  • Sets the objectives for the Railway Design Team and oversees the design process;
  • Defines tasks and deadlines;
  • Actively participates in the development of design phases;
  • Provides technical support to the Project Manager;
  • Attends technical meetings with partners and/or beneficiaries;
  • Evaluates the Railway Design team’s workload and resource needs;
  • Promotes an inspiring team environment with a culture of open communication;
  • Monitors team performance;
  • Provides training to identify needs and offers coaching support;
  • Proposes team-building activities;
  • Maintains strong awareness of current issues and market trends, particularly those with a direct impact on projects.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in a similar position in an international company in the field of infrastructure design in Romania;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, high standards of ethical behaviour and ability to work independently and take decisions;
  • Provide solutions to problems, based on evidence and justification and be able to simplify and cut through complexity as necessary;
  • Flexibility and adaptability, including the ability to work under stress and extended hours and manage priorities and risks at high speed;
  • Good skills in organising, scheduling, planning, able to delegate tasks and responsibilities where appropriate;
  • Confident, clear and polite style of verbal communication one-to-one or in a group, including ‘active’ listening;
  • Construction Engineering Degree;
  • Strong computer skills (proficiency in recognised design software and Microsoft applications);
  • Fluent in Romanian. Good spoken and written English.
