Job Description

Patreon is a media and community platform where over 300,000 creators give their biggest fans access to exclusive work and experiences. We offer creators a variety of ways to engage with their fans and build a lasting business including: paid memberships, free memberships, community chats, live video, and selling to fans directly with one-time purchases.

Ultimately our goal is simple: fund the creative class. And we're leaders in that space, with:

  • $10 billion+ generated by creators since Patreon's inception

  • 100 million+ free memberships for fans who may not be ready to pay just yet, and

  • 25 million+ paid memberships on Patreon today.

We're continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator platform with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for a Product Designer to support our mission.

This role is open to remote candidates in select U.S. locations. For those based in New York or San Francisco, we ask that you work from the office 3 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About the Team

We’re hiring a Product Designer to help shape the experiences that define how creators and fans connect on Patreon. You’ll work on meaningful product problems across the creator and fan journey, from how creators share and grow their work to how fans discover, engage with, and build deeper relationships with the creators they love.

You’ll tackle complex, high-impact opportunities that span the product, bringing clarity to ambiguous problems and turning ideas into thoughtful, polished experiences. Your work may involve evolving core product experiences, exploring new ways for creators to showcase their work and connect with fans, or designing tools and systems that help creators build sustainable businesses and engaged communities.

You’ll be part of a collaborative design organization, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Research to shape product direction, explore opportunities, and bring experiences from early concepts through launch. You’ll have the opportunity to make an impact on both the details of the experience and the broader product vision.

About the Role

  • Solve meaningful product problems through thoughtful design, prototyping, and iteration

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Research to develop and ship end-to-end experiences

  • Own design projects from early exploration through launch and iteration

  • Create polished, intuitive experiences that help creators build businesses and deepen relationships with fans

  • Contribute to a high bar for craft and collaboration across the design team

About You

  • 4+ years of experience designing and shipping end-to-end product experiences

  • A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful product design, strong craft, and meaningful impact

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with Product and Engineering

  • Curiosity about AI and emerging tools, with an interest in exploring how they can enhance your design process

  • Excited to tackle evolving product challenges, with the curiosity and creativity to turn complex problems into simple, intuitive experiences

  • A deep commitment to craft, product excellence, and learning

  • A humble, collaborative approach and a bias toward action

We hire talented and passionate people from different backgrounds because workplace diversity and inclusion is critical to our ability to serve creators worldwide. If you’re excited about a role but your past experience doesn’t match with every bullet point outlined above, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway. If you’re a creator at heart, are energized by our mission, and share our company values, we’d love to hear from you.
