Role Overview

As a Product Designer on a fixed-term contract, you will cover an existing role during a maternity leave, shaping the user experience and interface of our healthcare data platform with a particular focus on clinician-facing interfaces. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, and Product Marketing to create intuitive, accessible designs that support clinicians and other healthcare users. You are expected to make heavy, fluent use of AI tools to accelerate UX/UI design and to build prototypes for demos. Because this is a defined-scope engagement, you will onboard quickly, work with a high degree of autonomy, and ensure work can be handed back smoothly at the end of the contract.

Key Responsibilities

User Research and Insight Collection

User Needs Analysis: Conduct user interviews and gather qualitative insights to understand clinician needs, pain points, and real-world clinical workflows.Competitive Analysis: Collaborate with Product Management to review competitor products and industry UX/UI trends, informing design choices.Usability Testing: Plan and run usability tests with real users to validate design concepts and iterate.

Design Development

Interaction and Visual Design: Produce high-quality wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for clinician-facing interfaces, using AI tools to move quickly from concept to polished output.Prototypes for Demos: Build interactive prototypes suitable for demos and stakeholder validation.Figma Fluency: Demonstrate strong command of current Figma capabilities and workflows

Design Systems

System Ownership: Create, maintain, and evolve design systems to ensure brand and interaction consistency and to improve design efficiency across product features.

AI-Accelerated Design

AI Tooling: Leverage AI-based design and prototyping tools throughout the workflow to speed up ideation, generate variations, and produce demo-ready prototypes.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
