Role Overview

Instacart is seeking a Manager, Design Program Management to lead and grow a team responsible for operational excellence within the design organization. This role will shape how design work is planned and executed, ensuring high-quality experiences and fostering a thriving design team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Design Program Management team through mentorship and development.
• Define the vision and roadmap for Design Program Management to drive operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
• Scale systems, rituals, and playbooks to improve design work planning, execution, and delivery.
• Partner strategically across teams to ensure alignment, mitigate risks, and support design team health.
• Track success metrics to drive continuous improvement in team performance and design impact.
• Represent the Design Program Management function in leadership forums and company-wide planning.

Requirements Snapshot

• 8+ years of experience in program management, operations, or related fields, with 3+ years of team management.
• Experience leading design program management or a similar function within a design/creative organization.
• Deep understanding of product development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and design workflows.
• Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
