Job Description
As Lead Product Designer, you will be responsible for shaping how customers and colleagues experience Shawbrook through our website and operational journeys that sit behind it. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you will lead the design of customer-facing journeys while also considering the operational workflows, content management, that make those journeys work in practice. You’ll take responsibility for making experiences clear, consistent, and scalable — not just visually strong.
Day to day, you’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to design solutions that balance customer needs with delivery realities. You’ll contribute to the evolution of our key design systems and ensure it’s applied thoughtfully across the site, while also designing new journeys where patterns don’t yet exist. A big part of the role is helping teams move faster and with more confidence, whether that’s through clearer design intent, better reuse of components, or simply removing unnecessary complexity from how work gets done.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in product digital design, with experience operating at senior level.
- Proven experience owning and evolving design systems, including component libraries, patterns, and design standards.
- Strong experience designing CMS-driven and operational journeys (e.g. Umbraco or equivalent platforms).
- Comfort designing with real-world constraints, including regulatory content and operational approval flows.
- Experience working closely with engineers and understanding how designs translate into build.
- The ability to explain design decisions clearly and bring others with you.
- A passion for creating best-in-class, inclusive, and accessible digital experiences that deliver measurable customer and business outcomes
