Job  Summary

Seeking a skilled Skid Design Engineer to join our team, embodying Veolia's commitment to resourcing the world. The position requires proficiency in 2D/3D design software for creating detailed skid design  (AutoCAD, Inventor,Solidworks,Creo), As-Built drawings, and equipment layouts. Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive skid designs based on engineering documentation, performing stress analysis, and ensuring compliance with ASME standards (B31.3/B31.1). The ideal candidate will conduct peer reviews following Global Quality procedures, participate in model reviews, and manage material requisitions. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail in preparing technical documentation, collaborating within cross-functional teams, and maintaining project schedules. This role offers opportunities to contribute to Veolia's mission of ecological transformation while delivering innovative solutions for water treatment systems.

Essential Responsibilities / Expectations

Must-Have Requirements

  1. Able to draft Equipment/Foundation Layout using AutoCAD software

  2. Able to prepare Skid 3D Model based on Basic Engineering documents  using 3D Modeling softwares like Inventor, Solidworks,Creo  etc

  3. Able to understand & perform peer reviews Quality procedures, processes for skid deliverables. 

  4. Able to perform PFD/PID Review, Equipment Layout/Skid Pipe Routing design, 2D drawings extraction and annotation of various deliverables like GAD,plumbs & spool drawings , accurate Bill of Quantity,Support spacing(Metallic & Non-Metallic lines), prepare clash report & resolve before model review- produce compliance report.

  5. Participate in 3D models  using Inventor,Creo Plant 3D or Revit or Solidworks  and be able to review from concept to completion in order to ensure designers have provided enough flexibility in pipe routing.

  6. Knowledge on A36: Carbon Structural Steel,A105: Carbon Steel Forgings, for Piping Applications, A106: Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe for High-Temperature Service,A312: Seamless, Welded, and Heavily Cold Worked Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipe, A335: Seamless Ferritic Alloy Steel Pipe for High-Temperature Service

  7. Competent to lead a group of engineers as the Lead Skid Engineer, expertise to assist shop problem solving during manufacturing.

  8.   Proficient  holistic approach for customer specification, schedule, budget and productivity, understand each is dependent on the other.

Good To Have Requirements (That Supports future Career progression in the Role)

  • Able to create standard P&ID templates which include legend, blocks, attributes, linking to spreadsheets, and extraction of AutoCAD attributes.

  • Review Isometrics / 3D model to select correct pipe support type to align with the analysis.

  • Knowledge on A36: Carbon Structural Steel,A105: Carbon Steel Forgings, for Piping Applications, A106: Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe for High-Temperature Service,A312: Seamless, Welded, and Heavily Cold Worked Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipe, A335: Seamless Ferritic Alloy Steel Pipe for High-Temperature Service

  • Competent to attend on-site meetings as an analysis team representative, and has other customer facing interactions

 

Qualifications

Educational Qualification: Engineering Degree – Mechanical / Experience in Mechanical Engineering

Experience Required (Min – Max year): Maximum 8-12 years’ Experience of Mechanical design

Inventor /AUTO CAD PLANT 3D/Solidworks/Creo and AutoCAD Familiarity with international specifications relating to structures, piping and vessels
