Head of Product Design at Altana AI

The role

As the Head of Design, you will build and lead an agent-first design organization from the ground up to shape Altanas product vision. You will create a semantic, machine-readable design system that enables humans and AI agents to collaborate on complex global trade workflows.

What you'll do

• Build and lead a design team that prototypes in code and treats AI as a teammate.
• Own the vision for a living design system that serves as an enablement layer for PMs and agents.
• Develop interaction languages for agent reasoning, trust signals, and human-in-the-loop review.
• Define end-to-end design strategy across a multi-product network for diverse global personas.
• Partner with executive leadership to tie design investment to business and network metrics.
• Establish rituals and quality bars to ensure high-quality output without becoming a bottleneck.

What you'll bring

• Ten or more years of product design experience with four years in leadership roles.
• Proven track record of building design systems used by non-designers to ship products.
• Direct experience designing agentic or AI-mediated in-product workflows and patterns.
• Technical fluency in modern web materials including React, CSS, and design tokens.
• Strong product instincts with the ability to own outcomes against business metrics.

Your impact

You will redefine the product development lifecycle by moving away from static mockups toward a generative, agent-native ecosystem. Your work will ensure that Altanas complex global trade network remains coherent and trustworthy as it scales, directly influencing the efficiency and adoption of AI-driven workflows across governments and enterprises.
