Fire Engineer – Design Assurance at Turner & Townsend

The role

This role involves supporting the delivery of fire engineering design assurance across a portfolio of complex projects, including fissile and non-fissile environments. The successful candidate will provide expert technical oversight and independent reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards.

What you'll do

• Undertake independent reviews of fire engineering designs for project alignment
• Identify risks and opportunities for improvement in project designs
• Review fire strategies and calculations as part of the assurance process
• Provide expert technical advice on fire safety legislation and standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire safety requirements
• Produce concise technical reports outlining findings and required actions

What you'll bring

• Level 5 Diploma or Degree in Fire Engineering
• Membership of a professional body such as the Institute of Fire Engineers
• In-depth knowledge of Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order and BS 9999
• Familiarity with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and regulatory frameworks
• Proven ability to influence and engage across multidisciplinary teams
