Fire Engineer – Design Assurance at Turner & Townsend

The role

Turner and Townsend is seeking a professional to support fire engineering design assurance across a portfolio of complex fissile and non-fissile projects. The role involves independent review of designs and strategies to ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards. Regular travel to Derbyshire is required for this position.

What you'll do

• Undertake independent reviews of fire engineering designs for project alignment
• Provide assurance on fissile and non-fissile project designs to identify risks
• Review fire strategies and calculations as part of the assurance process
• Support project teams in resolving technical fire safety issues and mitigations
• Advise on compliance with relevant legislation and best practice guidance
• Produce clear technical reports outlining findings and recommended actions

What you'll bring

• Level 5 Diploma or Degree in Fire Engineering
• Membership of a recognized professional body such as the IFE
• In-depth knowledge of Regulatory Reform Order 2005 and BS 9999
• Familiarity with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and regulatory frameworks
• Ability to interpret complex fire engineering designs and technical documentation
