Experienced Motion Designer at Wix

Job Description

As a motion designer in the Design Guild, you’ll collaborate with our Motion Studio, Design, Creative Technology, and Product teams to create high-end branded video campaigns, animated content, and motion experiences for Wix products.  

We’re looking for a highly experienced, design-driven motion designer who can combine exceptional craft with the maturity to drive projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and guide other designers. You’ll work hands-on across multiple projects while taking ownership of the creative process from concept through final delivery.  

In your day-to-day, you will:  

• Lead motion projects from concept, storyboards, and animatics through execution and final delivery  
• Partner with PMMs, Creative Directors, Product, and other internal stakeholders to understand needs, shape the creative direction, and drive projects forward  
• Guide motion designers and animators working with you on specific projects, providing creative and professional direction  
• Manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities while maintaining a high level of craft and attention to detail  
• Collaborate with designers to bring Wix products and brand experiences to life through compelling motion  
• Stay on top of emerging motion design trends, techniques, tools, and AI-enhanced creative workflows  

Qualifications

• A strong background in motion design, with a deep understanding of motion and visual storytelling and a portfolio demonstrating complex, high-quality work  
• A strong design-first approach, with deep expertise in typography, composition, color, visual storytelling, and visual hierarchy, paired with a strong understanding of motion design and animation principles, and the ability to recognize and guide high-quality motion work  
• Strong proficiency across motion and design tools, with the versatility and adaptability to embrace new software, technologies, and AI-powered workflows as the field evolves  
• Proven experience leading complex projects or creative processes from start to finish  
• Experience providing creative direction or professional guidance to other designers or animators  
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to confidently navigate cross-functional environments and make decisions  
• Strong conceptual thinker with the ability to turn ideas and static designs into compelling motion stories  
• Proactive and independent, with the ability to identify what’s needed and move work forward without close supervision  
• Experience with 3D workflows and AI-enhanced creative tools – an advantage  
• Excellent English communication skills
