Creative DesignerFull-time (40 hours/week) | Amsterdam | Immediate startJoin our creative worldStudio ROOF is an international design brand where art, nature and imagination come together. From our studio in Amsterdam, we create colourful 3D objects that find their way into concept stores, museum shops and homes all over the world.We're a small, international team where ideas move quickly and everyone contributes. No two days are the same. One day you might be developing a new collection, the next creating a trade fair presentation, building a paper mock-up, discussing display materials with a supplier or helping prepare a photoshoot.We're looking for someone who's switched on: naturally curious, full of ideas and excited to roll up their sleeves. Someone who enjoys asking questions, experimenting, making things and helping bring beautiful ideas to life in a small, creative team.We're looking for a versatile designer who enjoys variety, loves turning ideas into reality and feels at home in a dynamic, international design studio where initiative and curiosity are valued just as much as creativity and craftsmanship.

What you'll doThis role is centred around product design, creative execution and visual storytelling.You'll work closely with our senior designer, external art director and management team to help shape and realise new ideas across many different projects. While product design is at the heart of the role, you'll also contribute to the many creative expressions of the Studio ROOF brand.Product Design & Creative DevelopmentDevelop new 3D products, graphic patterns and visual concepts within the Studio ROOF universe.Create graphics and artwork using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.Experiment with paper, cardboard, paint and other materials to develop concepts, mock-ups and prototypes.Create maquettes and test ideas by hand before bringing them into production.Assist in the development of packaging and product presentations.Research colours, materials, techniques and inspiring references.Help translate ideas into products that are both beautiful and commercially successful.Creative Production & StorytellingDesign catalogues, flyers, displays and trade fair presentations.Prepare artwork and production files.Retouch and edit photography.Support photoshoots and video productions whenever needed.Occasionally assist the marketing team with newsletters or other visual communication during busy periods.Think along proactively about how the Studio ROOF story can be expressed visually across products, displays, exhibitions and printed materials.Collaboration & Project SupportWork closely with our senior designer, who oversees the design archive, technical development and the overall structure of our collections.Collaborate with our external art director and management team on new concepts and creative directions.Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers regarding prototypes, displays, materials and production.Help source materials and production partners for displays, exhibitions and other creative projects.Support the preparation of trade fairs, launches and presentations.Take ownership of your projects and proactively ask questions whenever something is unclear.Contribute to keeping our studio organised, inspiring and enjoyable to work in—because in a small company everyone pitches in.

Who you areYou are curious by nature.You enjoy making things, testing ideas and solving creative challenges. You love colour, materials, form and detail, but you're equally happy rolling up your sleeves to build a mock-up, organise samples or help prepare a trade fair.You don't wait to be told every next step—you naturally think along, ask questions and enjoy contributing ideas. You're comfortable working independently while also being an engaged member of a close-knit team.Most of all, you're excited by the creative energy of a small international company where beautiful ideas quickly become real products enjoyed by people around the world.

You bringA degree or experience in Product Design, Graphic Design or a related creative field.Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign).Experience with 3D or product design.Strong graphic design and layout skills.An excellent eye for colour, composition and detail.Affinity with materials, model making and prototyping.An interest in visual storytelling and branding.Confidence in communicating with suppliers and external partners.A proactive mindset and the confidence to ask questions and take initiative.Excellent spoken and written English.A driving licence is preferred.French and/or Dutch are a plus.
