Graphic Designer — Brand & Print
Full-time · Hybrid / Remote · Amsterdam
Wonderment by Design is looking for a Graphic Designer with a strong eye for branding and print to join our multidisciplinary design team.
We work with some of the biggest names in gaming and entertainment, creating work that moves between digital worlds and the real world. From key art and campaign design to large-scale events, physical spaces and interactive experiences.
For this role, we're looking for someone who is particularly strong at taking an existing creative direction and turning it into a consistent visual world across many different formats.
A large part of your work will be supporting one of our major gaming clients across their global live events throughout the year. Think large-scale event graphics, signage, merchandise, print assets and all the details needed to bring an established brand and campaign to life in the physical world.Alongside this, you'll work across the wider range of projects we do at Wonderment, including key art, campaign design, digital assets and branding for experiential and interactive projects.
What you'll be doingDesigning visual assets for large-scale events and physical spacesTranslating existing brand guidelines and key art into consistent event brandingCreating and preparing production-ready artwork across many different formats and sizesDesigning merchandise and translating campaign visuals into physical productsRolling out campaigns across print, merchandise, signage and digital touchpointsCreating logos, graphic elements and visual identities that can range from clean and simple to expressive and illustrativeWorking on key art, campaigns, seasonal and experiential branding across other Wonderment projectsWorking closely with our designers and creative team to maintain a high level of visual consistencyCollaborating with motion, digital and interactive designers when projects cross into other media
What we're looking forYou have professional experience in graphic design, branding and print production, with a strong portfolio that shows both creative thinking and attention to detail. You have a strong understanding of typography, composition, colour and brand systems, and you're comfortable taking an established visual direction and expanding it into a complete family of assets. You also feel comfortable working in a more illustrative graphic-design language. The brands we work with are often games and entertainment properties, so a logo isn't always a minimalist wordmark and a brand system isn't always built from simple geometric elements. You should enjoy creating expressive typography, graphic elements, badges, logos, and compositions that feel at home in those worlds. You're comfortable designing for large-format print and physical environments, and understand how to take a campaign from its core visual direction through to a wide range of polished, production-ready assets.
A part of the role will also involve merchandise design and production. Previous experience in this area is a big plus, but not essential.
You're equally comfortable thinking creatively and getting into the details of production. You understand that something designed for a screen can behave very differently when it becomes a six-meter event graphic, a piece of merchandise, or something people physically interact with. And importantly: you love games. You understand the worlds, communities and level of detail surrounding them, and you'd be excited to help bring those worlds to life for players around the world.
How we workThis is a hybrid role. You can work remotely for most of the week, but you should be able to work from our Amsterdam studio around one day per week. For this position, you must already have the right to work in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, we're not able to offer visa sponsorship or relocation for this role.
Nice to haveExperience with merchandise production, key art, motion or digital design is a big plus, as is previous experience working with gaming or entertainment brands.
