Fire Engineer – Design Assurance at Turner & Townsend

The role

This role involves supporting the delivery of fire engineering design assurance across a portfolio of complex fissile and non-fissile projects. The successful candidate will ensure designs align with project requirements and standards while requiring regular travel to Derbyshire.

What you'll do

• Undertake independent reviews of fire engineering designs for project alignment
• Provide assurance on designs within both fissile and non-fissile environments
• Review fire strategies and technical calculations for risk and compliance
• Resolve technical fire safety issues and implement mitigation strategies
• Advise multidisciplinary teams on fire safety legislation and best practices
• Produce concise technical reports and communicate risks to stakeholders

What you'll bring

• Level 5 Diploma or Degree in Fire Engineering
• Membership in a professional body such as the Institute of Fire Engineers
• Expertise in Regulatory Reform Order 2005 and Approved Document B
• Familiarity with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and relevant Eurocodes
• Strong analytical skills and ability to influence multidisciplinary teams
