Fire Engineer – Design Assurance at Turner & Townsend

The role

This role supports the delivery of fire engineering design assurance across a portfolio of complex projects, including fissile and non-fissile environments. You will provide technical oversight and independent reviews to ensure designs align with project requirements and safety standards.

What you'll do

• Undertake independent reviews of fire engineering designs for project alignment
• Provide assurance on fissile and non-fissile project designs to identify risks
• Review fire strategies and calculations as part of the assurance process
• Support project teams in resolving technical fire safety issues and mitigations
• Advise on compliance with legislation and best practice guidance
• Produce technical reports outlining findings and recommended actions

What you'll bring

• Level 5 Diploma or Degree in Fire Engineering
• Membership of a recognized professional body such as the Institute of Fire Engineers
• In-depth knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 and BS 9999
• Ability to interpret fire engineering designs and technical documentation
• Familiarity with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and associated regulatory frameworks
