The role

The Visual Communication Design Lead in Chicago guides teams and clients through complex design challenges to set visual direction. You will work collaboratively to elevate storytelling across brand systems, interaction design, and digital products while maintaining a high bar for quality.

What you'll do

• Lead project teams and collaborate with multidisciplinary designers on complex engagements
• Use storytelling and design to make complex ideas clear and actionable for clients
• Transform research into visual systems and stories that build empathy for users
• Create and guide prototypes at various levels of fidelity to align teams
• Support and grow other designers through thoughtful critique and hands-on craft leadership
• Champion visual communication as a tool to make ideas tangible and meaningful

What you'll bring

• At least five to seven years of experience in visual communication and digital design
• Bachelors degree or higher in graphic design or an equivalent field
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma including motion and prototyping tools
• Experience leading brand identity projects from strategy through execution
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through ambiguous design challenges
