Job Description

We design Spotify’s consumer experience end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints, from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. If it touches a consumer, we shape it. We bring deep insight into human behavior, design, and technology to craft experiences that feel intuitive, expressive, and unmistakably Spotify.

Spotify's Core Experience (CoreX) team is shaping how listeners interact with Spotify through conversation, voice, and AI-powered experiences. We're building new ways for Premium subscribers to discover content, create playlists, control playback, and explore what they're listening to, using natural language.

We're looking for a Staff Product Designer to help shape the future of these experiences. You'll lead the design direction for our conversational agent while staying close to the craft, designing and prototyping experiences that make AI feel useful, intuitive, and trustworthy. Working with product, engineering, machine learning, and design partners, you'll help create experiences that bring listeners closer to the audio and creators they love.

What You'll Do

  • Shape the experience strategy for Spotify's conversational agent, partnering with product, engineering, and data teams to create a shared design direction across multiple teams.
  • Lead end-to-end product design for the core chat experience, from early exploration and prototyping through testing, refinement, and delivery.
  • Define how conversational interactions work across Spotify, including when the agent responds, asks questions, offers choices, or helps listeners take action.
  • Explore how conversation fits alongside familiar browsing and playback experiences across Home, Now Playing, and other key Spotify surfaces.
  • Design intuitive voice and text interactions that support different listening contexts, including hands-free experiences, headphones, connected devices, and in-car listening.
  • Create reusable interaction patterns and design guidance that help other teams bring conversational and AI-powered capabilities into their products.
  • Partner with research, data science, and conversation design teams to evaluate experiences, understand listener behavior, and improve the product through evidence and experimentation.
  • Build interactive prototypes to explore ideas, test assumptions, and make complex AI behaviors easier to understand and evaluate.
  • Support and mentor designers across the program, share knowledge, and help teams make thoughtful design decisions that balance user needs, technical possibilities, and business goals.

Who You Are

  • You have experience leading product design for complex digital products, shaping design strategy, and bringing multiple teams together around a shared direction.
  • You have worked on conversational, voice, or AI-powered experiences and understand how to design interactions that help people feel informed, confident, and in control.
  • You bring strong interaction and visual design skills, with the ability to create consistent experiences across mobile, voice, and connected devices.
  • You enjoy hands-on design and prototyping, using AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to explore ideas, learn quickly, and communicate how an experience should work.
  • You can turn complex or ambiguous challenges into clear design opportunities, using research, experimentation, and thoughtful judgment to guide decisions.
  • You communicate ideas clearly, welcome different perspectives, and build collaborative relationships with designers, engineers, product partners, and senior stakeholders.
  • You enjoy supporting other designers, sharing what you learn, and contributing to a team culture built on curiosity, creativity, and inclusion.

Where You'll Be

  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the Europe region as long as we have a work location.
  •  This team operates within the BST and CET time zone for collaboration.
