JOB PURPOSE

In this role, you’ll work with a talented team of digital designers in our growing office in Zagreb or Split, shaping top-notch experiences for international clients. You’ll collaborate with DEPT® teams across Europe, tackle complex design challenges, and push design quality to the next level. You're not just a strong designer, you’re a people-first leader who mentors talent, challenges conventions, and helps shape a thriving team culture. From hiring to hands-on design, you'll play a key role in putting our Croatian design team on the map.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive creativity and deliver excellence: As a lead designer for key accounts, you set the standard for design quality and ensure that every project is not only visually appealing but also strategically sound, delivered on time, and within budget.
• Strategic Collaboration: You will work closely with the UX Design Team and other leaders to further improve our capabilities and processes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A Proven Track Record: 6+ years of experience in a same or similar role and an impressive portfolio showcasing sophisticated experience design and a deep understanding of digital platforms, ideally gained within a fast-paced agency environment.
• Leadership skills: You know how to give constructive feedback and enjoy helping others grow. 
• Design System Nerd: You are an expert in building and maintaining scalable Design Systems that bridge the gap between aesthetics and functionality.
• Accessibility as a Mindset: You view WCAG standards not as hurdles, but as fundamental design principles, effortlessly blending stunning aesthetics with inclusive usability.
• Collaborative Spirit: You enjoy working in cross-functional teams, speaking the "languages" of UX Designers, Copywriters, and Developers to bring together ideas to life.
• Modern Toolstack: Mastery of Figma is a must; experience with motion design and prototyping tools like Framer or Jitter is a massive plus.
• Industry Pulse: You’re not only curious about digital trends, AI, new technologies, and design trends - you’re also committed to incorporating relevant innovations into your work.
• Communication Skills: You are fluent in English and are able to effectively communicate complex design concepts to both executive-level clients and engineers.
• The "Plus" Factor: While not a hard requirement, experience in Brand Design is a great advantage, helping us create cohesive experiences from identity to interface.
• AI-Driven Design Leadership: You actively explore and implement AI-powered design tools and workflows, using them to increase team productivity, accelerate ideation and prototyping, and raise the quality of design outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on craft and human-centred design.
• Trusted Client Partner: You are confident leading client engagements, facilitating workshops, presenting design rationale to senior stakeholders, and building trusted relationships that turn business challenges into impactful digital experiences.
