Based in Los Angeles, you will design tools and automations that connect engineering and factory operations to accelerate the production of critical aerospace and defense components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal customers across engineering and factory operations to understand workflows
  • Design core tools and automations for the AI-powered factory operating system
  • Create end-to-end experiences that connect work across various teams and functions
  • Define complex problems and design high-fidelity solutions within Figma
  • Ship initial working versions of designs using production code and AI agents
  • Collaborate with engineers to move features into production and measure operational impact

Requirements Snapshot

  • Proven record of solving complex customer problems with measurable business results
  • Experience shipping high-stakes features and products at a significant scale
  • Strong systems thinking skills to design for integrated workflows across functions
  • Senior or staff level expertise equivalent to Meta IC5 or IC6 levels

Job Description

Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. By combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost.

Following our $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding our manufacturing footprint, launching new capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more, while scaling our Factory-as-a-Service platform to transform how critical products are built.

Backed by leading investors including JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley, we’re building the future of American manufacturing—and looking for exceptional people to help make it happen.

If you’re ready to take on the most challenging and rewarding work of your career while helping create American manufacturing jobs for generations to come, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

The Role

Hadrian is building an AI-powered operating system for the factory: one integrated platform for how we engineer and build critical parts for aerospace and defense. As one of Hadrian's first product designers, you will work with key internal customers across engineering and factory operations. You will design the tools and automations that make our product lifecycle faster, and shape experiences that connect work across teams from end to end.

You will report to the Product Design Lead and work from Los Angeles.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with key internal customers across engineering and factory operations, and learn their workflows firsthand.

  • Design the tools and automations at the core of Hadrian's AI-powered factory operating system.

  • See how work moves across teams and functions, and design experiences that carry it from end to end.

  • Define the problem, design in Figma, and ship the first working version in code with coding agents such as Claude Code.

  • Work with engineers to take your work to production, and measure how it changes the way the factory runs.

What We're Looking For

  • A record of solving complex customer problems: you can show the customer, the problem, and the measured result.

  • Shipped features and products that customers adopted and that moved the business.

  • Experience shipping high-stakes features at scale.

  • Systems thinking: you design for the whole workflow, across teams and functions.

  • Senior or staff-level product design experience, equivalent to Meta IC5 to IC6, with high taste and a high degree of craft in Figma and in code.

What Will Set You Apart

  • You have designed software for industrial, operational, or high-precision work, where the product runs something physical.

  • You have designed AI-powered products or agent-driven workflows that people rely on every day.

  • You prototype in production code and ship it.

  • You are passionate about the mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing, and want your work to shape how the country builds rockets, satellites, jets, and ships.

A manufacturing background is not required.
