Sr. Structural Design Engineer - Bridge

Job Description

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team

• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.

• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.

• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

• Prepares technical specification sections.

• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, preferably Masters in Structural Engineering.
• 7-15 years of experience. Must have experience in detailed design of bridges for Highways and Railways projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to hold a PE license in NY and/or NJ within 12 months of hire
• Experience working with bridges 
• Experience working in NY Metro agencies
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is nice to have
• Proficiency with CAD and similar computer software

Additional Information

Sound knowledge of Indian code for road and rail Bridges design. Metro viaduct and station design experience is preferred
