About The Role
We are seeking a talented and innovative Designer to join our Product Team at RND Fortis GmbH. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the visual and user experience of our digital products, making our journalistic content more appealing and accessible to new and younger audiences. You will work closely with Product Owners, Frontend Developers, and Stakeholders to develop compelling prototypes, visualizations, and UX strategies that enhance usability and engagement. Your responsibilities will span strategic planning, design system development, user research, and active participation in agile workflows such as product planning and reviews. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of digital journalism and contribute to a dynamic team dedicated to innovative media solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant academic or professional background in Design, Media Design, Software Development, or a related field with a focus on digital design. You should have several years of experience in developing digital products, preferably within the journalism or media industry. Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Jira, Slack, Adobe Creative Suite, and Asana is essential. Experience organizing and conducting user research projects, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, is required. You should be comfortable working with AI-powered tools like Claude, Figma AI, and Large Language Models, demonstrating an experimental approach to product design. Fluency in German at a minimum C1 level, both spoken and written, is necessary to communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members.
Responsibilities
Develop and refine design concepts, prototypes, and visualizations that improve the user experience of our digital products.Collaborate with Frontend Developers to create and maintain components within our design system, ensuring consistency across products.Conduct user tests, user research, and desk research independently to gather insights and inform design decisions.Translate research findings into effective design solutions that enhance usability and engagement.Coordinate with stakeholders and external service providers to present and refine design proposals, ensuring alignment with project goals.Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as product planning, reviews, retrospectives, and refinements to ensure seamless project execution.Support visual design tasks, including the creation of graphics, when necessary, to complement digital interfaces.
