Job Description

NotarNow is one of Germany’s fastest-growing Legal Tech scale-ups and one of the country’s leading AI startups in legal tech. We are fully bootstrapped, have grown from 2 to 15 people in just over two years and have reached more than €3M ARR — now scaling towards €10M.

More than 1,500 legal professionals and over 6,000 employees already use our products in their daily work. For most of the past few years, we have operated largely in stealth mode, focusing on product, customers and growth rather than visibility. Now we are about to step onto the international stage, and our brand and visual presence need to catch up with the quality and ambition of our products.

That’s where you come in. With a team of 15 (8 tech/dev, 5 sales/support, 2 product), you’ll be joining early. You’ll be our media powerhouse, laying the foundation for our future media team and shaping how a fast-growing AI company presents itself to the world.

We are looking for a Motion Designer who lives and breathes UI animation: someone who turns Figma frames and screen recordings into fast, punchy product videos for NotarNow and KI:RSTEN — at high volume.

Before you read further: watch these two videosThese two references show exactly the kind of work this role is about:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_LBECIQQqshttps://youtu.be/xDwR1_vrIg8?si=HShSTaImi3Vjol5a&t=18Fast cursor moves, satisfying clicks, UI elements flying in and out, punchy text animations, motion blur, tight cuts on an upbeat track — software made to feel exciting. We don’t want copies of these. We want someone who watches them and immediately thinks: “Yeah, this is my thing”

If that’s your reaction, and your portfolio is already full of work like this, keep reading. If your first thought is “nice, but not really what I do”, this role is probably not the right fit — and that’s completely fine.

Your roleAround 95% of this job is UI. You take our finished Figma designs, screen recordings, live software and turn them into short, high-energy explainer videos, feature launches, ads and product animations. There is no live-action footage, no film shoots and no actors — just software, AI and interfaces brought to life.

Our products are live, the product design is fully done and our Figma system is in place. You don’t design the product, and you don’t spend weeks on concepts or decks. You open the Figma file or the screen recording and start animating.

This role is built for speed and volume. One day it’s a 20-second launch clip for a new KI:RSTEN feature, the next it’s three LinkedIn ad variants and a looping UI animation for the website. We think in days per piece, not weeks per 10-second sequence.

With the latest AI releases — from Claude to new generative and code-based animation workflows — the possibilities for UI animation are growing fast. You should feel at home in these tools, enjoy trying new ones and use them to ship more, faster and better.

Your bread and butterIf these are the things you love animating, you’ll love this job:Cursor movements, click effects and button hoversDrop-downs, menus, toggles and form inputs coming to lifeUI navigation: moving through screens, zooming into features, panning across interfacesChat UIs with messages going back and forth, typing indicators and AI responses streaming inFast, snappy transitions between screens and featuresKinetic typography and punchy text in-and-outsMotion blur, easing and timing that make everything feel premiumLots of elements moving on screen at once, cut tightly to upbeat musicThe occasional other asset (a social graphic, a presentation, an event visual) will come up too, but this list is the core of the job.

What you’ll doTurn our Figma interfaces into polished UI animations and short product stories.Turn raw screen recordings into fast, polished feature videos with cursor effects, zooms, typography, transitions and music.Produce short explainer and launch videos that make a new feature understandable in seconds.Create conversion-focused UI ads for LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube and other paid channels, often in several variants and formats.Create clean animated for our new website, landing pages, product launches, social media and newsletters.Build reusable motion templates and animation systems so new features can be shipped as videos quickly and consistently.Experiment with AI and code-based animation tools and adopt whatever makes output faster or better.Work closely with Product, Marketing and the founders, often seeing new features before they are released.Take a rough idea and a Figma link and independently deliver a finished asset, without needing every frame spelled out.

What you bringA portfolio packed with UI animation, SaaS product videos or app/software explainers. This is the single most important requirement.Strong professional experience in motion design with a clear focus on UI and product animation.Excellent After Effects skills (or a comparable tool), including the UI-animation basics: precise easing, motion blur, cursor and click work, screen transitions.Confidence working directly in Figma: importing frames, rebuilding components for animation, understanding how modern SaaS interfaces are built.Solid video editing skills (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar) for cutting screen recordings, syncing to music and finishing.A great feel for timing, pacing, typography and visual hierarchy. You notice when a hover is 3 frames too slow. The ability to simplify complex features into a few seconds of clear, exciting motion.High output speed without compromising quality, and genuine enjoyment of producing a lot.Ownership and self-direction: you take a piece from rough idea to finished asset on your own.The ability to take feedback, iterate quickly and keep raising the bar.

PlusUI animation tools such as Jitter, Rive or comparable tools.AI-assisted and code-based animation workflows, for example using Claude or other AI models to generate or speed up UI animations.AI image and video tools such as Runway, Higgsfield or comparable tools.Performance creatives: you know what makes a UI ad stop the scroll and convert.Sound design: picking music and adding clicks, whooshes and UI sounds that make videos feel tight.Building reusable motion templates or brand animation systems.Experience with SaaS, AI or other software products.Graphic design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for the occasional static asset. You don’t need to know every tool listed. We care far more about the quality and volume of your UI work than your exact software stack.

Please don’t apply if…We want to save you and us time, so to be very direct, this role is not a fit if you are primarily:An Art Director or Creative Director who spends most of the time on concepts, moodboards and creative strategy rather than producing.A film, TV or commercial creative working mainly with live-action footage, shoots, actors or real-world video.A 3D artist who mainly works in Blender or Cinema 4D and spends one or two weeks perfecting a single 10-second sequence.A Product or UX Designer focused on wireframes, research and user flows. Our product design is already done.A Performance Marketing Manager responsible for budgets, targeting and media buying.A Video Editor who waits for footage, scripts and detailed instructions. If your portfolio contains little or no UI animation, we will most likely not move forward, however strong your other work is. This role is about software, AI and interfaces — and that’s what you should love.

LanguageEnglish is perfectly fine for this role. German is a big plus, but not a requirement: our core market is German-speaking, and since you’ll animate our interfaces all day, understanding the German UI makes it much easier to grasp features and workflows quickly. If your German is limited but your UI animation work is exceptional, we still want to hear from you.

What we offerReal impact: your work will be seen directly by thousands of users and potential customers.Competitive compensation package.Performance bonus tied to the impact of your work, including how well selected ads, creatives and visual assets perform against agreed goals.Significant creative freedom in how you visually communicate our products.Very short decision-making paths and little bureaucracy. The opportunity to shape the motion identity of one of Germany’s fastest-growing Legal Tech companies. The freedom and budget to experiment with modern motion and AI tools.Professional setup: MacBook, Studio Display and everything you need to do exceptional work.Remote, hybrid or on-site work in Munich, Germany. For candidates who enjoy working in person: a newly built office in Munich’s.A high-performance environment with ambitious colleagues and a strong bias towards execution.

Your first 90 days30 days: You know our products, Figma system and visual language, and you’ve already shipped your first UI animations, feature clips and ads on your own.60 days: You regularly turn new features into polished product videos and ad variants, and you’ve started building reusable UI animation templates that speed up production.90 days: You’re our go-to person for visual production. Hand you a Figma link or a screen recording, and a finished, high-energy video comes back fast.

Start: asap

How to applySend a short email with your CV and, most importantly, your portfolio or showreel to karriere@notarnow.de.Your portfolio should be packed with work similar to the two reference videos above: UI animation, SaaS product videos, feature launches, app explainers and UI-based ads. Please put that work first. Live-action, TV commercials or pure 3D pieces won’t help your application for this role.

Show us your best UI work, not everything you’ve ever made. We’d rather see five outstanding UI animations than fifty average projects.
