Freelance Designer - Tailoring - Remote - High Growth Luxury Rtw Brand at MODE SEARCH Ltd.

Mode Search is supporting a luxury fashion brand with the appointment of a Freelance Designer – Tailoring. This is an exciting ongoing freelance opportunity to contribute to the development of the brand’s tailoring category, working within a refined, clean and understated luxury aesthetic. The role will be remote, with occasional travel to the brand’s New York and Milan offices.

The Designer will report to the Head of Design / Creative Director, working closely with the wider design and product teams across an international set-up.

The roleSupport the design and development of the tailoring category across seasonal collections, from initial concept through to final product.Develop design concepts, sketches, fabric ideas and product details that reflect the brand’s clean, minimal and sophisticated aesthetic.Work closely with the Head of Design / Creative Director to translate the overall creative direction into elevated tailoring.Collaborate with product development and production teams in Italy throughout the development and fitting process.Contribute to seasonal research, fabric and trim selection, fittings and product refinement, ensuring a consistently high standard across the collection.

RequirementsPrevious design experience specialising in tailoring, ideally within the luxury or high-end contemporary fashion sector.Strong technical knowledge of tailoring construction, fabrication, fit, proportion and garment development.A sophisticated design sensibility with an appreciation for modern, minimal and understated luxury.Strong hand-sketching and/or digital design skills, with the ability to clearly communicate creative and technical concepts.Comfortable working remotely and independently within an international team, with flexibility to travel occasionally to New York and Milan.
