Job Description

At Linear, we're building the product development system for teams and agents. AI is fundamentally changing how software gets built, and we’re shaping the tools this new era requires.

Founded in 2019, Linear has become the platform of choice for more than 40,000 companies (including OpenAI, Coinbase, and Ramp) to plan, build, and ship their products. Today, our team is distributed across North America, Europe, and Australia, and we’re continuing to grow internationally. What unites us is relentless focus, fast execution, and a deep care for software craftsmanship.

We're looking for a Design Engineer with strong visual taste to help drive our creative initiatives across web and brand. When it comes to design and code, we’re looking to work with experienced people who can pick up any problem and solve it. For us, it’s both how it works and how it looks. At its core, Linear is a developer tool where speed, interactions, and small details matter. We expect a broad set of design skills and the ability to create high-quality designs, interactions, and prototypes.

In this role, you will help communicate Linear's story—what we're building and why it matters—as part of our internal creative agency: the Magic Team.

What you'll do

  • You will be responsible for building complex and interactive UI web/app experiences

  • Build beautiful, responsive websites, landing pages, and internal tools

  • Implement creative animations and interactions in code

  • Explore visual design in Figma and translate it to web-native experiences

What we're looking for

  • Eye for good design

  • Strong frontend engineering skills

  • Experience building end-to-end websites and landing pages

  • Experience with React and TypeScript

  • Experience using agentic coding tools as part of the design process (from exploring ideas to building production-quality interactions)

  • A portfolio or Twitter profile showcasing a range of technical skills, a creative use of code, and prototyping skills

What we offer

  • Interesting and challenging work

  • Work life balance

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • Employee-friendly equity terms (extended exercise)

  • Paid lunch and coffee during work days

  • Work remotely, no commuting to the office

  • Paid co-working space/desk at an office

  • Regular team events and offsites

  • 5 weeks paid vacation

  • 4 months paid parental leave
